Improved intelligence-sharing proposed between Gambling Commission and sports governing bodies

DCMS_logoDCMS has published a consultation that can be downloaded below. It proposes that a number of new bodies are added to Schedule 6 to the Gambling Act 2005 to better reflect the sports bodies with which the Gambling Commission shares information on a regular basis, so that sports betting matters relating to those sports can be actively addressed by the Commission and the relevant Sports Governing Body. The consultation states that this will support future effective working practices, reduce the burden on SGBs and the Sports Betting Integrity Unit and help protect UK sports and betting from the impacts of integrity issues.

The closing date for responses is 8 December 2016. Comments should be sent by e-mail to: [email protected] or to:- Schedule 6 Consultation (Gambling Commission) Department for Culture, Media and Sport 4th Floor, 100 Parliament Street, London SW1A 2BQ
