Nuisance complaints

We are often called upon by leisure industry clients to advise them how to deal with noise complaints, whether such complaints relate to noise escape from their premises or is alleged to be caused by their customers or staff.

A useful briefing paper has been published by the House of Commons Library that can be downloaded below. It deals mainly with nuisance affecting individual residents, that constitutes statutory nuisance and the alternative remedies that are available under statutory nuisance legislation. It also describes other nuisance and the other applicable legislation.
