Your small print can attract big problems

In an article for the ICE 2018 edition of iGamingBusiness, David Clifton explains that the Gambling Commission and the CMA are cracking down on unfair or misleading terms and conditions, but if operators genuinely start from the perspective of believing in treating their customers fairly, the rest should follow.

In terms of the background to this article, at the Gambling Commission’s “Raising Standards” Conference last month, George Lusty, Project Director at the UK Competition and Markets Authority (‘CMA’), outlined changes that the CMA is expecting from operators to address the CMA’s and the Commission’s concerns around unfair practices, as part of the two bodies’ joint work on the matter.
