Daily fantasy sports in the U.S. continue to hit the headlines

logo-30-high2Fast developing concerns about its daily fantasy sports industry are currently rocking the U.S. They arise from an employee of DraftKings, allegedly armed with insider information (although this has been denied by DraftKings), playing and winning DFS contests on the rival site FanDuel.

Here in the UK, the Gambling Commission has raised its own concern (in its recently launched consultation “Proposed amendments to LCCP for all operators in relation to the prevention of crime associated with gambling”) that a conflict of interest may arise if an employee of a British licensed operator sees an emerging suspicious trend in betting markets and uses this insider information to place bets in his or her own interests.
