EGR UK Virtual Summit 2020 – a highlight of Safer Gambling Week

Taking place during the forthcoming Safer Gambling Week (19 – 25 November 2020), the EGR UK Virtual Summit 2020 – taking place during the afternoon of Tuesday 24 November 2020 – is an invitation-only event bringing together senior level executives from the gaming industry to discuss safer gambling strategies, broader regulatory updates and how to not only keep up with changes in responsible gaming legislation but be ahead in terms of processes and innovation.

- a keynote presentation by Tim Miller, Executive Director at the Gambling Commission, entitled “Keynote: UKGC’s challenge to industry“,
- a presentation by Brigid Simmonds, Chairman of the Betting & Gaming Council, entitled “Where are we now? An update on the BGCs commitment to safer gambling“ and
- a panel session to be moderated by David Clifton entitled “Managing isolated player risk: Does the solution lie in technology?“, in which David’s panellists will be:
- Paul Carpenter, Head of Safer Gambling at GamCare,
- Adam Doyle, Head of Gaming at TruNarrative,
- Richard Bayliss, Senior Regulatory Affairs & Compliance Manager at Playtech and
- Simon Lidzen, CEO at Fast Track
David’s session is described as follows:
With land based options continuing to be restricted and many parts of the UK still under lockdown rules, player isolation has become a major concern for the industry. This session will explore the technological options available to operators to monitor player trends, the challenges to technology in identifying at risk early life players, and the potential shortcomings in player protection when monitoring player affordability during lockdown
The event’s website explains that the EGR UK Virtual Summit is “only open to a select group of invited guests and pre-booked sponsors” but does provide an online form for completion by senior and C-Level executives from leading eGaming operators (including CEOs, COOs, Chief/ Heads of Technology/ Data/ Infrastructure/ Security Officers, General Counsel/ Chief Compliance Officers, Heads of Distribution/ Sales/ Business Development, Chief Marketing Officers/ Chief Digital Officers/ Heads of Marketing & Brand) who may wish to apply to attend as a delegate.
