Comments by David Clifton feature in a GamblingCompliance article published today and entitled “UK Public, Gambling Industry At Odds Over Flutter’s Watson Hire”.
Commenting on the recruitment by Flutter Entertainment of former Labour deputy leader Tom Watson as an adviser with a focus on responsible gambling, David is quoted as follows:
I think this is a strategically very sensible appointment by Flutter, particularly with the government review of the Gambling Act looming on the horizon. I hope that he and Michael Dugher at the Betting and Gaming Council (BGC) will find some common ground on core safer gambling principles that in the longer term will serve to benefit gambling operators and customers alike.
Other comments within the article (that can be downloaded below) on the same subject-matter are made by Peter Jackson of Flutter, Michael Dugher of the Betting & Gaming Council, Dan Waugh of Regulus Partners and Danny Cheetham of Gamvisory.
