Gambling Commission publishes new RET licence condition reminder
Categories: News
The UK Gambling Commission has published in its latest e-bulletin a reminder to its licence-holders that, as originally reported by us on 2 August 2019, with effect from 1 January 2020 the annual financial contribution made by licensees for gambling research, prevention and treatment (as required by the LCCP SR code 3.1.1) must be made solely to organisations that are on a list maintained by the Commission.
The Commission states within its reminder:
The aim of the list is to guide operators on how to be compliant with the LCCP requirement to make financial contributions to research, prevention and treatment. Operators can choose to split their contributions across more than one organisation on the list as long as contributions cover the three areas. Further information on the new RET licence condition is available and we will begin to publish the list of organisations to which operators may direct their contributions later this week.
The Commission has published:
- further information on its website entitled “The process for organisations who wish to be on the approved list for annual LCCP RET contributions” and
- a short form to be completed by all those seeking to be on the list of such organisations,
each of which can be downloaded below.
