It can hardly have escaped anyone’s notice that the General Data Protection Regulation comes into force this Friday, 25 May 2018.
With this in mind, we have updated:
- our terms of business (that you can read here).
We look forward to dealing with you in the post-GDPR world.
Gambling operators should ensure they have read the Gambling Commission’s GDPR webpage and Information Note entitled “Gambling Regulation and the General Data Protection Regulation” and those within the remote gambling sector should find it helpful to also read the Remote Gambling Association’s recently published GDPR Guidance.
UPDATE: The Data Protection Bill received Royal Assent on 23 May 2018 (in the process becoming the Data Protection Act 2018). The Act commenced on 25 May 2018 and is not limited to the UK GDPR provisions. Further information is available on the ICO’s website where the ICO states that it intends “in the longer term is to develop [its] main suite of guidance to cover the Data Protection Act 2018 in more detail” and that it “will publish this under the umbrella of a new Guide to Data Protection which will cover the GDPR, the applied GDPR, Law Enforcement and any other relevant provisions”. You can download below a copy of the relevant ICO webpage in its present format.
