What makes a good quality SAR?

The Gambling Commission has today (10 February 2021) publicised availability of a UK Financial Intelligence Unit (UKFIU) podcast entitled “What makes a good quality SAR?” – accessible here – that “focuses on helping reporters submit good quality Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) to provide maximum benefit to law enforcement”.

The Commission goes on to describe the podcast as “part of the UKFIU’s new digital presence in terms of engagement and communication with its stakeholders in line with the National Police Chief Council’s Policing Vision 2025 relating to the changing risks and opportunities of the digital world, looking at how law enforcement responds and adapts to the digital environment”.

Money Laundering Reporting Officers and others engaged in AML roles within their respective organisations might find it helpful to listen to the podcast.
