PPL PRS suspends payment charges for TheMusicLicence during COVID-19 closure period

On its “Business Update – COVID-19 webpage (that you can download below), PPL PRS Limited, the joint venture company that administers the licensing of music used in public via TheMusicLicence, has introduced a number of temporary measures to support UK businesses affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

These include:

  • not charging customers for their music usage during the period they are closed (temporarily or permanently) due to COVID-19;
  • changes to payment policies, intended to introduce further flexibility, including deferred payments, for customers during this period; and
  • temporary suspension of late payment surcharges.

PPL PRS Limited goes on to say: “If you have any queries about the effect of COVID-19 on TheMusicLicence that are not answered below, you can of course still contact us via telephone on 0800 0720 808 or our online form“.
