Public consultation on proposed new alcohol consumption guidelines

The Department of Health has published a Consultation Paper entitled “How to keep health risks from drinking alcohol to a low level: public consultation on proposed new guidelines”. The guidelines include a recommendation that both men and women are safest not to drink regularly more than 14 units of alcohol per week. The consultation merely invites views by 11.45pm on 1 April 2016 whether the public thinks the Chief Medical Officers’ recommendations, and the reasons behind them, are clear and easy to understand.
